A Good Person – Kirsten King

News Desk June 5, 2026 (Last updated: June 24, 2026) 2 minutes read
A Good Person – Kirsten King

Lillian and Henry have been enjoying each other’s company, especially in bed. Even though Lillian’s best friend calls it “situationship,” Lillian is determined to lock Henry down—and she has a plan. She’ll be the best, most accommodating version of herself until he falls in love with her. But when Henry blindsides Lillian with a breakup, Lillian exacts revenge by performing a drunken hex on him.

Lillian expects Henry to come crawling back to her. What she doesn’t quite anticipate is becoming a prime suspect in his murder case when he’s found dead. As Lillian grapples with the loss of her sort-of-boyfriend, she’s hit with another reckoning: That Henry had a long-term girlfriend he also left behind.

Desperate to control the narrative, clear her name, and assume her rightful place as Henry’s mourning girlfriend, Lillian’s pursuit of the truth will throw her into a dangerous tailspin. A deliciously addictive novel that explores our darkest, most human impulses, A Good Person heralds Kirsten King as a striking new voice in the canon of celebrated fiction.

Book Info: Print length: 293 pages. Publisher: Fleet. Publication Date: 31 March 2026

Have you ever read a book that literally turned your stomach and filled you with dread because the main character was so unhinged?

Well that’s what happened when I read A Good Person by Kirsten King..

This is car crash fiction at it’s best.

If you enjoy unreliable, delusional and downright damaged characters who have no morals, no humility and border on batsh*t crazy you might love this.

If you are, however, a prude, get easily offended then avoid this book at all costs.

Shocking, smutty and disturbing throughout, there is some dry and dark humour which I did enjoy.

I would have given this 5 stars but I absolutely loathed the main character and almost had to shut my eyes at points that just left me gobsmacked.

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating: 4 out of 5.
